The arrival into San Ramon was quick and easy. Getting slide from the airport to Dona Nidia’s house was really nice, though it would be nice to have a ride back to the airport too. Although the first project was disappointing, the second project at the Christian center was really great.
The staff made us feel welcome, the kids were desperate for attention and wanted us to play with them 24/7. being in Costa Rica has been awesome.
It’s always interesting to see a different country and experience a different culture. I really enjoyed the food, even eating rice and beans for every meal.
Staying with Dona Nidia meant eating a ton of delicious food. We always had huge meals and great variety. Although the volunteer house is nice, I really enjoy forming a bond with my host mom.
Another great thing about being part of uVolunteer is being able to help out the community while also traveling and seeing the country. We traveled to Jaco, Monteverde y Montezuma. Monteverde was by far the best. We went zip lining, horseback riding, and took a night tour where we saw a huge tarantula and lots of birds. Overall, a very cool trip.
