It was difficult, and I really appreciate a free washer and dryer at home now. Even in the dorms at school it is only $2.50 to wash clothes. I am not tired today I realize the reason I am getting so tired is because I am not eating enough.
Today I brought crackers to work to eat throughout the day when I get hungry. I have had energy to play with the kids today. We had an intense game of tag and then a game of soccer which were both fun. Another one of the kids accidently kicked Fabian in the ankle. He tried to play it off, but I could tell it was hurting him really bad. These kids are really tough and so good at soccer!!!
It makes me think about healthcare and how they probably do not have easy access to dental care, doctor’s visits, and optometrists. We also played with bubbles which ended up making a huge mess. This afternoon Gaby, Jenna, and I had to pop 10 bags of butter and cheese popcorn and distribute them into smaller bags for the kids to watch a movie. I didn’t get to watch the movie because Jenna and I had to leave early to day for our staff meeting. Sergi, Ashley, Maria, and Aleh are leaving Friday, and I am sad to see them go!
We are going to have a full house this weekend; we are getting 13 new volunteers! I am anxious yet nervous to meet them. I am no longer going to have the room to myself, and I have never had to share a bedroom in my four years of college living in dorms. I am a very social person, but at the end of the day I like having my own privacy and alone time. It is only for a week and a half though… I can do it!
